The challenges around the interviewing of the M25 rapist will be one of the presentations at a conference being hosted by The Investigator magazine in conjunction with Business Systems UK Ltd.
‘Best Practice in Interviewing Suspects Accused of Sexual Offences’ will highlight work from officers from forces in England and Wales in this challenging area of policing.
Confirmed speakers
• DI Ian Trantum from British Transport Police will talk about the challenges and strategies the interview team used when quizzing convicted rapist Antoni Imiela.
• DI Alison Eaton from the Special Investigations Branch at Sussex Police. DI Alison Eaton will be speaking about her experience in interviewing rape suspects focussing on capacity and consent issues.
• ACPO interview advisor DS Martin Vaughan from Gwent will also be giving an update on exclusive research he has been conducting comparing interviews with murder suspects to those of rape suspects.
• Toby Sparrow from Business Systems UK Ltd and Graham Dickinson from Damovo, who was also a former Surrey Police superintendent will be giving an update on the latest digital interviewing technology.
