Maximising Tactical Digital Opportunities in Communications Data, 21 January 2026
Explores alternative routes for digital opportunities when it is not an easy A to B.
Workshop will demonstrate the alternative routes we can take to get our target information in circumstances when SIM swapping, unregistered SIMs, VPNs, and other technical or legal circumstances prevent us getting the identity, phone numbers or locations of our SOI by our usual methods.
It will provide best practice around understanding the different opportunities, as well as how to apply for the data, read the data, and use the data in investigations.
The workshop will also outline the challenges and pitfalls and provide practical guidance on how to overcome them whilst still understanding the legislation and keeping requests necessary and proportionate.
This session is a must-attend for any investigator or analyst looking to unlock the full potential of opportunities, uncover hidden insights, and integrate advanced digital techniques into their investigative strategy, while staying legally and ethically sound.
The day will include best practice around:
-
Finding new phone numbers: exploring the other opportunities keeping requests necessary and proportionate
-
Finding home addresses: how to find locations and use them for operational plans
-
Utilising what limited information we have
